Singhare ka halwa

Today's recipe is Singhare (Water chestnut) ka halwa.It is usually made during fasting like ekadashi, navratri vrat, janmashtami, shivratri etc.It is one of the flours that can be eaten during the fasting days.I make many dishes using this flour but today I am making halwa of it Generally people avoid eating much sugar and fat so I have added less sugar and ghee.People can increase the quantity according to the taste.So let us start the recipe of Singhara Halwa.

Cooking time - 15 min
Ingredients -
Singhara atta (water chestnut flour) - 1 bowl
Ghee - 1/2 bowl
Sugar - 1/2 bowl
Dry fruits - as per choice
1.Chop all nuts (almonds,cashew,raisins,dry coconut etc).
2.Heat a heavy bottom pan at medium flame.
3.Put singhara atta and ghee in the pan.
4.Roast it with stirring continuously till it turns light brown in colour.It will take about 5-6 minutes.
5.Put 2 bowl water in it and stir continuously.
7.As sugar melts It will become shiny.
8.Keep stirring and cooking till ghee stars to leave from the halwa.
9.Add chopped nuts in it and mix well.
10.Halwa is ready to serve.
11.Garnish with all nuts and dry coconut strips,
Things to remember -
1.Halwa tastes better when it is serve hot.
2.Cardamom powder can be used for enhancing the taste.
