Methi Matar Malai

Welcome on my blog Khaana Khazana Tasty with a new and delicious recipe which is Methi Matar Malai. It is a popular North Indian  dish. Methi Matar Malai can also be found in the menu of most North Indian or Punjabi restaurants. Its creamy, smooth, delicious and of course healthy too with the methi (fenugreek leaves) and matar (green peas). This is so good, even it will even beat the  Methi Matar Malai served in restaurants.This recipe is good for kids too, especially if you want to feed them methi. There is no bitterness of methi. It is  on the sweeter side due to presence of cream, onion and ceshews. It is a good dish which can be served in parties. So let us start the recipe.

Ingredients -
Methi (fenugreek leaves) - 250 gm
Peas - 1 big bowl
Milk - 1 cup
Cream (malai) - 3 tablespoon
Ceshews - 10
Khas khas - 1 teaspoon
Onion - 2
Tomato - 1
Ginger piece - small
Garlic - 5. 6 cloves
Green chillies - 2
Cloves - 5
Cinnamon stick - 1
Black pepper - 8-10
Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
Sugar - 1 teaspoon
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Oil - 4 tablespoon








Method of preparation -
1.Wash and cut methi leaves in small pieces.


2.Cut onion, tomato, ginger and chillies in big pieces.


3.Heat oil in pan and add all whole spices,
4.Saute for few seconds and add onion, ginger, chillies and garlic.


5.Fry till onion becomes transperant and keep aside for cooling.


6.After cooling, make a paste of it with cashews and khas khas.


7.Again heat a pan with little oil.
8.Transfer the paste in pan and mix peas and methi leaves in it.





9.Mix well and cook for a minute.
10.Now add milk, salt and sugar and mix.
11.Add water if required and cook till peas become soft.
12.After cooking well, add craem (malai) in it and cook for a minute.
13.Methi Matar Malai veg is ready.


14.Serve hot with naan or roti.
